Boston, Somerville public schools to be open Wednesday

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – Boston and Somerville public schools will reopen Wednesday.

Schools had been shut down as crews dealt with massive amounts of snow dumped on the city from last week's blizzard.

Boston Mayor Tom Menino said buses did a round of routine inspections and officials were inspecting all school facilities Tuesday.

Menino said that the parking ban and snow emergency in Boston would be lifted at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Reduced rates at city parking garages expire at 8 p.m.

Somerville was also lifting its snow emergency starting at 8 p.m. Cars left in city lots past 10 p.m. may be subject to ticketing or towing.
