Boston Runs as One: Portion of Marathon jacket sales to benefit victims

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Adidas has announced a portion of sales from the 2014 Boston Marathon Celebration jacket will be given to a fund for the victims of the Marathon bombing.

The jackets, which will be received by nearly 36,000 competitors, 10,000 volunteers, and 3,500 race officials, will feature a "Boston Runs as One" logo on the back collar.

An undisclosed percentage of retail sales will be donated to the One Fund. Those looking to purchase the jacket can buy it now online for $110, or at a later date at Boston-area retailers and the Boston Marathon race expo in April.

The 2014 Boston Marathon will be held on April 21. Race officials expect 9,000 more runners on the course than in 2013.

Nearly 5,600 runners were on the marathon route when two bombs detonated near the finish line. Since they could not finish the marathon, they were sent invitations to take part in this year's race without having to qualify again.
