Boston Police make arrest in Charlestown shooting

CHARLESTOWN, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Four months after the murder of a Charlestown teenager, three men are now charged in his death.

At Charlestown District Court Wednesday, friends and family gathered to see what they call a step towards justice, and FOX25 was there when they watched one of three accused killers be formally charged.

The victim, Ryan Morrissey, a high school senior, hockey player and Boys and Girls Club counselor is remembered fondly by friends.

"Seventeen years old and lost his life, he had a future ahead of him you know," one of his friends said.

He was at the A1 Convenience store in Charlestown on the November night he was killed. His friend's say he was just "at the wrong place, at the wrong time."

Prosecutors say Julio Beaz is one of three men to blame, our cameras were in court as the state argued he drove the getaway car after two cohorts opened fire.

"They brandished fire arms pointed them at both Jake and Ryan Morrissey then began firing multiple rounds at both of them," a prosecutor said in the courtroom.

Outside court, our cameras captured Baez during an outburst, saying he's innocent, as authorities hauled him off to the Suffolk County Jail.
