Boston man accused of trying to set fire to Masonic Temple Lodge

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A 31-year-old Boston man is facing charges amid allegations that he tried to set fire to the Masonic Temple Lodge on Tremont Street.

Kevin Jones of Dorchester was charged with attempting to burn a place of worship after the Monday night incident.

Boston fire officials tweeted the suspect, later identified as Jones, was detained by a security officer and placed under arrest by Boston police after he sprayed some type of liquid onto some furniture. Jones then tried to ignite the liquid, investigators say.

Jones was expected to be arraigned Tuesday.
