Boston implements traffic, parking restrictions as students return

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – As college students move back into Boston, the Boston Transportation Department, working with police and the Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Service, will implement temporary traffic and parking restrictions that will provide access within impacted neighborhoods.

Allston/Brighton Boston University

"Tow Zone No Stopping, 8 AM to 10 PM, August 30 – September 2" regulations will be in effect at the following locations.

• Pratt Street, even side, from Linden Street to Ashford Street

• Ashford Street, even side, from Linden Street to Malvern Street

• Gardner Street, even side, from Linden Street to Malvern Street

• Linden Street, even side, from Gardner Street to Pratt Street

• Brighton Avenue, even side, from Linden Street to Reedsdale Street.

In addition, temporary turning restrictions will be in place from August 30 through September 2 as follows.

• A "No Left Turn" sign and a "Do Not Enter" sign will be posted at Ashford Street at Chester Street requiring vehicles exiting Chester Street to take a right turn toward Malvern Street

• A "No Left Turn" sign and a "Do Not Enter" sign will be posted at Pratt Street at Wadsworth Street blocking access to Pratt Street heading towards Linden Street, and requiring vehicles travelling on Pratt Street from Ashford Street to take a right onto Wadsworth Street

• A "No Right Turn" sign will be posted at Ashford Terrace at Ashford Street requiring vehicles on Ashford Terrace to turn left toward Malvern Street

• A "No Right Turn" sign will be posted at Hartley Terrace at Ashford Street requiring vehicles to continue straight to Malvern Street

• Three "No Right Turn" signs will be posted at Pratt Street at Ashford Street requiring vehicles exiting Pratt Street to take a left turn on Ashford Street toward Malvern Street

Fenway/Northeastern University

"Tow Zone No Parking, August 29 through September 2" regulations will be in effect at the following locations.

• Hemenway Street, both sides, from the Forsyth Institute Parking Lot (near Fencourt Road) to Westland Avenue

• Forsyth Street, both sides, from Ruggles MBTA Station to Hemenway Street

• Opera Place, both sides, from Huntington Avenue to Saint Stephen Street

• Saint Stephen Street, both sides, from Opera Place to Massachusetts Avenue

"Tow Zone No Parking August 30 - August 31" regulations will be in effect at the following locations.

• Columbus Avenue, both sides, from Benton to Camden Street

• Coventry Street, both sides, from Tremont Street to Columbus Avenue

"Tow Zone No Parking Sunday September 1" regulations will be in effect at the following locations.

• Gainsborough Street, both sides, from Huntington Avenue to Hemenway Street

• Symphony Road, both sides, from Saint Stephens Street to Hemenway Street

• Westland Avenue, both sides, from Hemenway Street to Massachusetts Avenue

"Tow Zone No Parking, Sept 1 – Sept 5" regulations will be in effect at the following location.

Huntington Avenue, odd side, from #309-319 Huntington Avenue

Mission Hill

"Tow Zone No Stopping, Boston Police Special Event, Sunday 9AM - 6PM, Except RPP" regulations will be in effect at the following locations.

• Calumet Street, both sides, from Darling Street to Hillside Street

• Cherokee Street, both sides, from Pontiac Street to Hillside Street

• Hillside Street, both sides, from Parker Hill Avenue to Parker Street

• Oswald Street, both sides, from Calumet Street to Hillside Street

• Pontiac Street, both sides, from Tremont Street to Hillside Street

• Sachem Street, both sides, from Parker Hill Avenue to Calumet Street

• Saint Alphonsus Street, both sides, from Alleghany Street to Calumet Street

"Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Sunday" regulations will be in effect at the following locations.

• Parker Hill Avenue, odd side, fromHuntington Avenue to Hillside Street
