LINCOLN, N.H. — A Boston man is recovering from a serious head injury after falling during a hike in New Hampshire.

New Hampshire Fish and Game says 40-year-old Christopher Wetzel was descending a steep portion of the Flume Slide Trail in Lincoln on Saturday when he fell about 50 feet. He was rescued by helicopter and taken to a hospital for treatment of head and upper body injuries.

Fish and Game conservation officers, the Pemi Valley Search and Rescue Team and the New Hampshire Army National Guard assisted in the rescue.
