Boston Globe places writer on leave following accusations of misinformation

BOSTON — The Boston Globe has placed columnist Kevin Cullen on paid administrative leave pending a review of his work.

A spokesperson for the Globe told Boston 25 News a third party will be brought in for the review and that the newspaper will be transparent with the results.

The news comes after claims from radio station WEEI allege Cullen's columns from recent years included misinformation. This includes his latest column from this past weekend about the Boston Marathon bombings.

The Globe stressed the integrity of each of its journalists is fundamental to its organization.

The full statement issued from the Globe to Boston 25 News can be read below:

"The integrity of each of our journalists is fundamental to our organization.
