Boston firefighters reportedly pull man from river during Fens fire

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – A man was reportedly rescued from the Muddy River in the Fens section of Boston by crews working to extinguish a brush fire that broke out near the Boston Fire Department's Dispatch Operations building Saturday night.

Firefighters responded to the area at about 6 p.m. While extinguishing the fire, an adult male was found in the river.

According to the Boston Fire Department, two firefighters with water survival suits pulled the man from the river. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. It is unknown why the man was in the water.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
