Boston firefighters battle two separate fires in the city

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Boston firefighters battled two separate fires in the city overnight.

In Mattapan, a triple-decker on Estella Street became engulfed in flames just after 2 a.m. Monday. Crews believe the fire started on the second floor, then burned through the third floor and into the roof.

All 12 people living in the building were able to make it out safely.

Crews estimate the fire caused about $500,000 in damage.

Investigators are trying to determine what sparked the flames.

Boston firefighters also battled a fire at a furniture store. The flames broke out before midnight Sunday at Logan Furniture, near Freeport and Dorchester avenue.

No one was hurt in the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
