A pollution monitoring camera from CAMNET, which continuously monitors the Boston Skyline for pollution-related haze, showed smoke shortly after 9 a.m. rising form the southwest part of the city.

Officials said it was a multi-alarm fire, and it completely destroyed the home, leaving behind charred wooden remains.

No one lived in the home, but fire officials said it was known to have squatters. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death for the person who died.
