CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) - Passengers on a Boston Duck Tour boat on the Charles River have been safely evacuated after the driver noticed smoke.
State police spokesman David Procopio tells The Boston Globe a state police patrol boat saw the amphibious tour boat on the Charles River near the Museum of Science early Friday afternoon. He said the 22 passengers were taken aboard the state police boat and brought to the Cambridge shore. There were no injuries.
State Police told FOX 25 that some oil had dripped onto the engine causing the smoke and there was no fire.
Bob Schwartz, a spokesman for Boston Duck Tours, says the driver and other employees noticed smoke at about 12:15 p.m. and suspected a burst radiator hose. He said they didn't see any flames. He said another duck boat towed the disabled boat to shore where it is being inspected.
