Bones found at King's Chapel, says church

BOSTON — Police are investigating after bones were found at the historic King's Chapel Thursday.

The church would not comment on the bones but confirmed the discovery.

Police responded and the church was briefly shut down to visitors. It has since reopened.

The church, established in 1686, is along the Freedom Trail and popular with tourists. It was the first Anglican Church in Puritan Boston. Notable members and attendees include George Washing, Paul Revere and more.

While the church dates back to 1686, the building was constructed in 1754.

Boston 25 News is working to learn more about the discovery of the bones.
