Body of 21-year-old crash victim hidden by trees, police say

MIDDLEBOROUGH, Mass. — An investigation is underway in Middleborough after police said a heavily wooded section of Winter Street prevented passing motorists from noticing a crashed motorcycle and the body of its 21-year-old driver.

Middleborough police said they were asked to check the well-being of a Plympton man reported missing in the area of 14 Winter St. just before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

After a search of the area, police discovered a blue Harley Davidson motorcycle and the body of its driver, who has been identified as Aaron M. Trop, about 20-25 feet off the road.

Police said they believe Trop was headed northeast on Winter Street when it left the roadway and slammed into several trees. The motorcycle came to rest in a thickly wooded area on the side of the road, which prevented anyone from noticing the crash.

The incident is under investigation.
