Body found in the Taunton River

TAUNTON, Mass. — A body was pulled from the Taunton River Saturday evening.

Police said two people were canoeing down the river when they spotted what appeared to be a body in the river.

Accessing the river from Power Street, officials found a body in debris at bank.

The body belonged to a man in his 40s and it appears the body was in the water for a period of time. The body was taken by the Medical Examiner's office.
