MARBLEHEAD (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A body discovered in the ocean about five miles east of Marblehead harbor on Monday has been identified as the kayaker that went missing off the coast of Swampscott on Sept. 8, 2012.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner identified the body as Maryan Lisovich, 23, of Lynn. Lisovich went missing while kayaking off the coast of Swampscott on September 8, 2012.
The body was spotted on Monday at 3:30 pm by a fishing vessel approximately seven nautical miles from Eastern Point in Gloucester.
A US Coast Guard vessel recovered the body and brought it back to the Coast Guard Station in Gloucester. The body was then transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Boston for identification.
