Body found in Cambridge believed to be missing Arlington man

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A body found in Cambridge on Sunday has been tentatively identified as that of a missing Arlington man.

Police identified the body, found near Fresh Pond in Cambridge, was John Rosenberger, the 61-year-old Arlington man who went missing in December, according to Arlington Patch.

"This is a sad conclusion to Mr. Rosenberger's disappearance and our sincere condolences go out to the Rosenberger family," said Arlington Police Chief Frederick Ryan in a statement.

Rosenberger, was last seen on Dec. 9. He often walked with a walking stick and went to different readings and shows at the Harvard Bookstore, Cambridge Public Library and Boston Public Library.

An official positive identification is pending on the state medical examiner's report.
