BOSTON — Beacon Hill is looking to put a stop to food stamps being used to buy marijuana.
State Rep. Shaunna O’Connell, from Taunton, fled a bill Wednesday that would prevent buying marijuana with EBT cards.
She argued that EBT cards need to be used for necessities.
There’s already a state law banning people from using their EBT cards to buy alcohol, tobacco and lottery tickets.
