Bikers ride through Washington, DC despite denied permit

WASHINGTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – Despite their denied permit request, bikers will continue their cross-county ride through Washington, D.C. on Sept. 11 to commemorate those who died in the 9/11 terror attacks and soldiers who have fought in Afghanistan.

According to U.S. News & World Report, bikers had hoped to ride through Washington, D.C. uninterrupted on Sept. 11; however, the city denied their request.

While the organizers regretted the city's decision, they said on Facebook that they would continue their ride in what will likely be an all-day event.

It's legal for motorcycles to drive through Washington D.C., but authorities have said they will act if any rider is committing a crime.

The group has been criticized for having a strong anti-Muslim stance but organizers say they just want to honor the victims of 9/11 and military members.
