• Bicyclist may have been fatally struck by MBTA driver in Allston


    BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A bicyclist was struck and killed on an Allston street and police say he may have been hit by an MBTA bus.

    According to the Boston Herald, the victim was a 21-year-old Boston University student. He was on his bike at the corner of Brighton and Harvard avenues when witnesses tell the paper a bus hit him. He was rushed to the hospital, but died from his injuries.

    Police are questioning the driver of the Route 57 bus to see how it might have been involved or if he realized he hit someone. He's 58 years old and has been with the MBTA for six years.

    The bus driver is not on the road Tuesday.

    Police have not released any names.
