LEXINGTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A Belmont man was arrested Monday for driving under the influence after he reportedly struck a guardrail in the area of Route 128 in Burlington.
Charles E. Connelly, 55, has been charged with operating under the influence of drugs, possession of a class A substance, possession of a class E substance, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, and failure to stop for the police.
Massachusetts State Police received calls Monday that a person was driving erratically and even struck a guardrail on Route 128. Troopers eventually located the car in Lexington and followed the vehicle.
Connolly reportedly stopped in the breakdown lane after a brief pursuit.
Connelly was released on bail and arraigned Tuesday morning at Concord District Court.
