DUXBURY, Mass. — In the chilly Sunday night air, rescuers helped two dolphins who had gotten stuck on a Duxbury beach.

People noticed the dolphins, a mama and a baby, stuck Sunday afternoon along the beach past High Pines in Duxbury. A few hours later, rescuers from the International Fund for Animal Welfare, which has an office in Yarmouth Port, and from New England Aquarium arrived in Duxbury with stretchers.

The dolphins were picked up with yellow tarp-like materials and carried to stretchers, and then rolled to special trucks for evaluation. They were determined to be stressed, but overall in fine health.
The dolphins were taken down to Plymouth Bay where they were released back into the water.
