Be careful in East Boston, 5 muggings reported in 5 days

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – Police are asking East Boston residents to use caution while walking at night after five street robberies were reported in the area.

According to the Boston Police Department, all of the robberies occurred between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., and four of the robberies occurred between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.

Two or more suspects have been involved in all of the robberies and in two of the robberies the suspects had a gun.

The first incident occurred at Bremen Street and Porter Street around 6 a.m. on Feb. 21. A white Hispanic male and a black male armed with a handgun assaulted and robbed a victim.

The second incident occurred the next day at Sumner Street and Bremen Street around 1:20 a.m. Two males reportedly assaulted another victim from behind and stole his wallet.

Almost 24 hours later on Feb. 22, two white males and a black Hispanic male brandished a gun and stole a victim's wallet and gym bag.

The fourth incident occurred at 1:20 a.m. at Gove Street and Paris Street on Feb. 24. Three male suspects approached a male victim and stole his cell phone.

The final robbery occurred on Feb. 25 at 10:49 p.m. at Orleans Street. Two white males, wearing bandanas, demanded a victim's money and cell phone.
