BB gun at center of fatal fight between father, son

WEYMOUTH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A fight in Weymouth that led to the death of a 58-year-old father was over a B.B. gun.

Details surrounding Ronald Beaudry's death came out in court Tuesday morning.

Michael Beaudry, 20, was arguing with his father about being able to shoot his B.B. gun. Prosecutors said Ronald Beaudry thought his son was going outside to shoot the B.B. gun which had been a source of tension in the past; however, it is unclear where Michael Beaudry had planned to shoot the gun.

During the argument Michael Beaudry left the Cross Street home to attempt to go to a friend's house as his father followed him.

When outside, the younger Beaudry reportedly hit his father in the head, knocking him to the ground.

Witnesses told FOX 25's Ted Daniel that the Michael Beaudry attended to his father after striking him, cradling the man's head and apologizing for hitting him.

Ronald Beaudry was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after arrival.

Michael Beaudry was charged with one count of murder. He was held without bail.

The two had apparently fought about the B.B. gun before. It was also revealed at the arraignment that the two had a previous fight that resulted in Ronald Beaudry's ribs being cracked. That incident was not reported to police.

A neighbor said Ronald Beaudry was a military veteran who always seemed to have a good relationship with his son. The judge said Michael Beaudry had one more test to complete before going into the military.
