Bauman, Arredondo to serve as commencement speakers at Fisher College

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A Boston Marathon bombing survivor and his rescuer will serve as speakers at Fisher College's 2014 commencement ceremony.

The college announced Monday Jeff Bauman and Carlos Arredondo would serve as their commencement speakers. The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. on May 10 at John Hancock Hall in Boston.

"Carlos Arredondo and Jeff Bauman became symbols of courage during the Boston Marathon tragedy through their actions on that fateful day and the days and months that followed," read a statement from the college. "Arredondo, captured in an iconic photograph, helped save Bauman's life by wrapping a makeshift tourniquet around his leg and wheeling him to safety."

The school goes on to say Bauman and Arredondo will provide their graduates with a "unique and valuable message about meeting their greatest challenges and reaching their goals."
