Authorities release description of vehicle used in Mattapan hit-and-run

MATTAPAN, Mass. — A description for a vehicle used in a fatal hit-and-run in Mattapan has been released by police.

After searching for both the suspect and witnesses to the crime, the Suffolk County District Attorney released a statement saying a witness had come forward.

The witness, a taxi driver, spoke with State Police on Sunday, and police gathered together evidence from the scene, video footage and the statements from the witness to form a description.

The car used in the incident "may be a Honda Accord, possibly a 1999-2004 model.

The District Attorney asks anyone with "information on such a vehicle that sustained recent, significant, and unexplained front-end damage" to contact police.

Police have been searching for the suspect that killed 40-year-old Pierre "TJ" Desir, who died after being hit by a car in Mattapan on Saturday morning.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
