Austrian teen sues parents for posting embarrassing pictures on Facebook

According to the Daily Mail, the photos have made the young woman's life "a misery." Some of the photos, which have been shared to her parents' 700 Facebook friends, showed her having her diaper changed and potty training.

"They knew no shame and no limit and didn't care whether it was a picture of me sitting on the toilet or lying naked in my cot. Every stage was photographed and then made public," the plaintiff said.

The woman said she asked her parents to take the photos off the social media site, but they refused. Her father claimed that since he took the photos, he has the right to publish the images.

"I'm tired of not being taken seriously by my parents," the woman said.

Austrian news source The Local reported that the young woman's lawyer, Michael Rami, said he thinks she has a good chance of winning in court if he can prove the photos infringed on her privacy.

The Daily Mail reported that if she wins, the woman's parents would have to pay their daughter compensation and pay her legal fees. Plus, other parents uploading images of their children on social media in the country could face repercussions.
The court case is set to take place in November.
