Australian Celtics fan proposes at season opener, she said yes!

BOSTON — Wednesday was a big night for the Celtics, but an even bigger night for two of their fans.

Jamie Sowaid and his girlfriend, Madi Toms, flew all the way from Australia for opening night, but not just to see the game.

Jamie got down on one knee and proposed to Madi and she said yes.

Madi told FOX25 she was totally surprised.

“Jamie is diehard Celtics fan, so I was thinking he somehow managed to get photos on the… because this is like his dream come true to be here today. So I wasn't expecting it at all. It was just. I'm still in shock,” she said.

Jamie told FOX25 after months of emails back and forth with the Celtics everything went off without a hitch!
