Arrest made in Hampton, N.H. killing

HAMPTON, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) – New Hampshire authorities said an arrest has been made in the killing of a 56-year-old Hampton, N.H. man.

The New Hampshire Attorney General's office said Peter Bartoloni, 70, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Robert Roderick.

An autopsy revealed Roderick died from multiple blunt impact injuries to his head.

A woman, who identified herself to FOX 25's Jessica Reyes as the girlfriend of one of the victim's roommates, said she and her boyfriend found him dead and covered in blood inside an apartment at about midnight.

"It's just a shock. I don't understand how anybody could do this," said Nicole Belanger.

Belanger told FOX 25 she and her boyfriend went to check on Roderick just before midnight after they didn't hear from him for several hours. When he didn't answer the door, they climbed through the window. She says they found him inside with a wound on his head.

"My boyfriend went over and lifted the shirt off his face. It was a white shirt covered in blood," Belanger explained.

Bartoloni will be arraigned at Seabrook District Court on Oct. 8.
