Arlington man arraigned on child porn charges

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – An Arlington man was arrested and arraigned this week for allegedly possessing child pornography.

Last month, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received information about a computer that allegedly contained child pornography photos, officials say. During the investigation, officers tracked the computer system to a suspect’s home. After executing a search warrant and seizing a computer, police arrested Michael J. Thomas, 30, Tuesday night at his home in Arlington.

Thomas was arraigned Wednesday morning in Cambridge District Court and pleaded not guilty. His bail was set at $5,000 and he was ordered to stay in the state and be monitored via GPS. He is also not allowed to have access to computers, the Internet, or any child under the age of 18. He is due back in court on June 4 for a pre-trial conference.

The investigation remains ongoing.
