Amherst College senior dies over school's spring break week

AMHERST, Mass. — A senior at Amherst College has died, according to the school.

Officials announced Sunday Andrew Dorogi, class of 2018, died Friday night. While officials confirmed the school was on spring break last week, there was no word of where Dorogi was when he died.

“The sudden and tragic loss of one of our students is extremely difficult to absorb and accept,” the school’s president, Carolyn ‘Biddy’ Martin wrote in a letter. “I have been in touch with Andrew’s family to express our deepest sympathies. We will relay additional information as we are able.”

Dorogi was a native of Cleveland, Ohio where he attended the University School. He played football at Amherst and was an economics major.

Dorogi was expected to graduate in May.
