Ambulance stolen from outside Boston Medical Center

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Boston police are investigating the early morning theft of an ambulance from Boston Medical Center.

Investigators tell FOX 25 the ambulance was stolen just before 5:30 a.m. as paramedics were transferring a patient from the emergency vehicle into the hospital.

The ambulance was later recovered near a supermarket.

Police are looking for the person who stole the vehicle. No arrests were made Saturday.

Two hours earlier, police say a 37-year-old South Boston man stole a police cruiser and ran an officer down after investigators responded to reports of a person breaking into a car. Wilfredo Rodriguez faces several charges, including larceny of a motor vehicle and assault and battery on a police officer.
