Amber alert lifted for missing North Brookfield toddler

NORTH BROOKFIELD, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) --An Amber Alert was issued and a short time later lifted after a missing 21-month-old boy, Thomas Woods, was found in Connecticut. The alert was originally put in place after the boy not returned to his home by his father after a regularly scheduled visit.

Thomas was expected to be reunited with his mother Tuesday night.

Investigators said Ryan Woods picked up his son at about 11 a.m. Monday for the visitation, which ends at 5 p.m. The child's mother called police after Ryan did not bring Thomas home. Ryan was last seen in North Brookfield at 1 p.m.

Woods was believed to be heading south of Massachusetts, according to the Worcester County District Attorney's office.

On Tuesday evening, Ryan Woods brought his son to a hospital in Milford, Conn., appearing to be concerned about Thomas' health, though boy is fine, said Paul Jarvey of the Worcester County District Attorney's office.

Woods will most likely appear in court in Connecticut before being brought back to Massachusetts.

Family members and the boy's mother had said Ryan could suffer from depression. They also said Ryan left the home without shoes or winter clothing for Thomas.

Anyone with information about their whereabouts is asked to call North Brookfield police at 508-867-1170 or 911.
