BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – An Amber Alert was called off Tuesday night after authorities located a 13-year-old boy, who had been kidnapped by his custodial father, in Cambridge.

Mass. State Police issued the alert at about 9:30 p.m. and recalled the alert about an hour later; however, the suspect remains at large. The child was taken to Mass. General Hospital.

Authorities said Jonathan Moore Sr., 37, abducted his son from a residence located at 9 Highland St. at about 7:30 p.m. Police said Moore forced his way into the home and severely injured the person inside.

According to the preliminary investigation, Moore claimed to have a handgun and threatened to use it. He then abducted his son, Jonathan, and fled in a 1997 red Toyota Camry with Mass. registration 634-RH4.

The suspect is described as a black male with black hair and brown eyes. He is 6'3" tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds.

Moore is allegedly accompanied by his girlfriend, 25-year-old Ashley Smith. Smith is described as a black female with black hair and brown eyes.
