METHUEN, Mass. — A State trooper was injured after his cruiser was hit by a driver who was allegedly under the influence.
The crash happened on I-495 South around 8 p.m. as the trooper was setting up for a construction detail before exit 45.

The trooper was taken to Holy Family Hospital in Methuen with minor injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle has been identified as Joseph Doiron, 59, of North Andover. He is charged with OUI-liquor fourth offense, operating to endanger, marked lanes violation, speeding, and having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.
Doiron is expected to appear in Lawrence District Court Friday.
