Adam Sandler's Grown Ups 2, Swampscott make $28,000 deal

SWAMPSCOTT (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Columbia Pictures and the town of Swampscott have teamed up to host Adam Sandler's Grown Ups 2 in exchange for funds to be used for field improvements to Phillips Park.

The town will receive $28,000 for renting space at Phillips Park to the makers of Grown Ups 2, reports Swampscott Patch.

Columbia Pictures is currently using the tennis courts, a portion of a soccer field, as well as space in front of the field house for a catering truck.

Filming is expected to begin next week and will continue through the end of July.

According to the site, the deal was negotiated between the movie makers and town officials.  Officials saw the proposal as a nice financial opportunity to enhance Phillips Park.
