Accused bank robber arrested after standoff in Quincy

QUINCY, Mass. (AP) - A bank robbery suspect who was arrested after a lengthy standoff with police at a home in Quincy is due in court.

Police tactical teams surrounded Brian Kalil's Quincy home on Thursday and spent hours trying to coax the suspect out before finally managing to take him into custody. Several streets in the neighborhood were closed down during the standoff.

Kalil, who was taken to a hospital for evaluation, is accused of robbing a TD Bank branch in Wellesley last weekend.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday in Dedham District Court on charges of unarmed robbery and larceny of more than $250.
