Aaron Hernandez investigation enters second week

(MyFoxBoston.com) – Three men have each been accused of playing a role in the murder of semi-professional football player Odin Lloyd, including former New England Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez.

According to prosecutors, Hernandez orchestrated the execution of Lloyd because he did not trust him. He remains behind bars at the Bristol County House of Corrections in North Dartmouth.

Hernandez is allowed outside for an hour a day and must be in bed for lights out at 9 p.m.

In addition to Lloyd's murder, Hernandez is now under investigation for possible ties to a fatal drive-by shooting that killed two Dorchester men. The double homicide occurred last summer in Boston.

No arrests have been made in that case and police have not said where that investigation stands.

Ernest Wallace, 41, is one of the two men believed to have been with Hernandez at the time of Lloyd's murder. Wallace turned himself in to police in Miramar, Fla. on Friday. He is expected to be returned to Massachusetts at any time. He faces one count of accessory after the fact.

Wallace is a father of three. All of his children are under the age of 10.

Carlos Ortiz, 27, of Bristol, Conn. appeared in a Massachusetts courtroom Friday. He pleaded not guilty to one count of carrying a firearm without a license. Ortiz is being held until his next hearing on July 9.

Lloyd, 27, of Dorchester, was laid to rest Saturday. Close to 300 people packed a Mattapan church for the service and dozens of others stood outside. The former Boston Bandits player was remembered as a respectful man who liked to make people laugh.

Lloyd was dating the sister of Hernandez's fiancé. Prior to recent events, it was believed Lloyd and Hernandez were friends.

The Albany Herald spoke with former Patriots player Deon Branch who says he is still standing by his friend. He told the newspaper, "Aaron is a great guy and a great friend of mine and a great teammate. I love him to death, and it was shocking to hear his name involved in this situation. I truly hope and pray he doesn't have any dealings with it."

Hernandez was charged with Lloyd's murder Wednesday. He was held without bail following his arraignment.
