65-year-old man drowns in Ossipee

OSSIPEE, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A man 65-year-old man drowned in Ossipee, New Hampshire Friday.

The man went for a swim around 5 p.m. in Duncan Lake, but started having difficulty breathing when swimming across a cove, officials say. Friends and family saw that he was having trouble and swam out to help him.

He was still struggling when as they made their way to him, but he lost control and went under water. His family was able to find him within 10 minutes, but first responders were not able to survive him once they got to the shore.

The man’s identity will be released once his next of kin is notified. The incident is under investigation.
