WORCESTER, Mass. — A 49-year-old Worcester woman was found dead in Coes pond Friday morning.
Neighbors told police she was last seen on the pond around 7 a.m. Thursday morning and a search was launched shortly before 8 p.m. that night.
Divers had to halt the search when it got too dark, but resumed looking early Friday morning. Police say that's when the 49-year-old woman's body was pulled from the pond.
The medical examiner's office said it appears to have been an accidental drowning, but the exact cause of death in still pending.
