4-month-old kitten stolen from Norwood Petco

NORWOOD, Mass. — A stolen kitten from the Petco in Norwood has prompted a police investigation.

The 4-month-old kitten was being kept at the adoption center of the story, which is run by the Bay State Animal Cooperative Adoption Center.

Just before 1 p.m. Monday, a man walked in, kicked open a cage, grabbed the kitten inside the put it in his jacket and walked out.

Police said surveillance video indicates the man may have had a female companion.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for the safe return of that kitten.

We are investigating the theft of a four month old kitten from Petco located at 1210 Boston-Providence Highway. The kitten was being stored in the adoption center of the store which is run by the Bay State Animal Cooperative Adoption Center. On 1/16/17 at 1247 in the afternoon, a male party shown in the video below forced open the cage by kicking it. The male then grabbed the kitten, placed it inside of his jacket, and walked out of the store. It's possible that the male party was in the presence of a female companion, but that information is not certain. The kitten taken goes by the name "Louie". He is a four month old short hair kitten. There is a $1000 reward for the kittens safe return and information leading to the identification of the suspect that is not being provided by this department.
