34-year-old woman dies at hospital after stabbing in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. — A woman who was reported to police screaming outside a home in New Bedford after being stabbed later died St. Luke’s Hospital, according the district attorney’s office there.

Chantel Bruno, 34, was reported by callers as ‘screaming and bleeding’ outside 387 Ashley Boulevard shortly after 1 a.m. Monday.

Responders arrived to find the woman and rushed her to St. Luke’s Hospital, where she was pronounced dead just over an hour later from stab wounds.

Police say they are investigating the death, but have not yet released any further details or suspect information.
