HAMPTON FALLS, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Two suspects are in custody after a standoff that took place Tuesday in Hampton Falls, New Hampshire, according to Hampton-North Hampton Patch. Route 1 was reopened around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Police blocked off Route 1 near the town line between Seabrook and Hampton Falls Tuesday afternoon. State Police released a statement, which said that around 10:30 a.m. troopers responded to 24 Lafayette Rd. in Hampton Falls to help Amesbury, Mass. police with an ongoing investigation.

Once police encountered the two men wanted for questioning, they fled police and barricaded themselves inside the home. As of 3:30 p.m., the two were still in the home, according to the statement.

Additionally, the state police's SWAT unit was called in to help with the situation.

FOX 25's Ted Daniel reported that the suspects who barricaded themselves in the house were originally wanted by Amesbury police for having possible stolen property in their car.

Daniel was told by authorities that the men are alone in the duplex where they were living and were not holding anyone hostage.

The standoff ended just before 7 p.m. Tuesday when Darren Gragg, 46, and Melissa Amato, 32, were taken into custody and charged with burglary. Bragg's bail was set at $150,000 and Amato's was set at $100,000. Both will be arraigned Wednesday.

    The investigation remains ongoing.
