GREENFIELD, Mass. (AP/MyFoxBoston.com) - State police are investigating a tractor trailer crash that they say killed two Alabama residents.
Authorities say the vehicle was engulfed in flames when troopers responded to the crash in Greenfield, Mass., at about 3 a.m. Sunday.
It happened on the northbound side of Route 91, prompting police to shut down part of the road for several hours.
The victims have been identified as 33-year-old Theodore Wilson and 45-year-old Eleanor Williams, both of Birmingham, Alabama.
Authorities say the tractor trailer crashed into the median between exits 27 and 28.
An investigation into all possible contributing factors, including the possibility of medical conditions, is ongoing.
