2 dead after being pulled from water in Gloucester

GLOUCESTER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Two people are dead in an apparent drowning off the coast of Gloucester.

The victims were reportedly struggling in the water off Eastern Point for as long as 45 minutes.
    
Police say they responded to reports of a man and a woman calling for help around 5 p.m. Sunday.
    
The two victims were pulled from the water and taken to Addison Gilbert Hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.
    
Investigators have not yet released the names of the victims but told the Gloucester Times that one person is local, the other was not.
