2 Boston men arrested in shooting on Providence Highway

DEDHAM, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Mass. State Police say two Boston men are in custody for their alleged connection to a shooting on Providence Highway that injured a 32-year-old Dedham woman.

Investigators said the woman was driving southbound near the Dedham-Boston line during the evening commute Friday when the occupants of another vehicle shot at her car several times.

Police said the woman drove herself to the Dedham Police Department. Her car was found stopped outside the station on High Street.

The woman was taken to Beth Israel Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Video from the scene showed police searching through the victim's car, which had a broken window and blood on the door.

Marcel Reed, 20, of Roslindale, and Andrew Renna, 21, of Mattapan, are charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault with intent to murder.

Investigators say Reed and Renna were identified as persons of interest in the shooting Friday night. They were taken into custody and held without bail after being interviewed by investigators.

Officials would not comment on a potential motive, however they do say the shooting was not random.
