BROCKTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) Over a dozen people were displaced by a 3-alarm fire at a multi-family home in Brockton overnight.
Fire officials tell FOX 25 the call came in for a fire at 31 Park Street at about 11 p.m. Tuesday. Flames were coming from the second floor up to the third floor and roof.
Officials say Park Street is narrow, which made responding to the blaze difficult.
Crews from surrounding towns assisted Brockton fire crews in dousing hot spots until just before sunrise on Wednesday morning.
The home is a three story wood frame building that housed 18 people, including two children, and 15 dogs. Fifteen of the dogs were puppies, seven did not survive. The displaced residents are receiving assistance from the Red Cross.
Fire officials believe the fire was started by a burning candle.
