STONEHAM, Mass. — More than a dozen cars got flat tires after driving over debris on I-93 in Stoneham.
Boston 25 News reporter Catherine Parrotta first reported the incident on Boston 25 Morning News at 5 a.m.
One lane of I-93 north in Stoneham was blocked after Montvale Avenue.
At least 14 cars have multiple flat tires due to metal debris that was in the roadway. MassDOT tells Boston 25 News there was a large piece of steel on the road that several cars drove over. The cars moved to the shoulder and waited for the tow truck and the debris has since been removed.
Drivers should use caution while driving in that area.
