Updated:BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Boston police are investigating a South End shooting that left a man in critical condition.
The shooting happened shortly after 9 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Tremont and Aguadilla streets. Witnesses said they saw a man and woman dive for cover behind a car during the shooting.
Nearby residents said they heard several shots fired.
"I just live right around the corner there on Warren and I was sitting in my apartment last night and I heard about five shots I guess in a row and they didn't sound like fireworks. Then I saw the police cars speed by so I figured that it wasn't a sign of something good," said one resident.
Police also cordoned off the intersection of Tremont and West Brookline streets. Evidence markers were also placed at the intersection.
The victim, an unidentified man in his 30s, is in critical, but stable condition at Boston Medical Center. Anyone with information is asked to call Boston police.
