1 arrested in connection with 2 stabbed in Revere

REVERE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A suspect was arrested after a man and woman were stabbed Friday night at the Wonderland T stop in Revere.

At about 9:30 p.m., transit police officers responded to the Wonderland station for a reported stabbing. A man and woman had been stabbed and were transported to Mass. General. The woman sustained non-life threatening injuries and the man suffered serious injuries.

After a preliminary investigation, officials say the man is 49 years old and the woman is 33 years old and neither were familiar with the suspect before the incident. The two victims and suspect were traveling on an inbound Blue Line train when they engaged in a verbal altercation, officials say. They are unsure about what caused the issue originally, however, the altercation quickly escalated to a physical confrontation as the train entered the Wonderland station. Both victims sustained stab wounds and were transported to the hospital.

As the investigation continued to unfold, officers were able to arrest a 28-year-old man, with a Boston address, on charges of assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
