FOX25 Announces 2016 Cox Conserves Hero

BOSTON — FOX25 and The Trust For Public Land  announced Adam Crellin-Sazama as Boston’s 2016 Cox Conserves Hero. The program honors Boston’s volunteers who are creating, preserving or enhancing outdoor spaces.  A total of $20,000 will be donated to environmental nonprofits on behalf of the winner and finalists.

Crellin-Sazama is creating a better future for the planet and inspiring his fellow teenagers to make a difference. He created a movement called Youth United for Animals and the Planet and advocates on the important role zoos play in animal conservation. While volunteering at Franklin Park Zoo, Adam cares for animals and educates visitors on conservation and climate change issues. As his nonprofit of choice, Zoo New England will receive $10,000.

The two finalists each will each receive $5,000 for their nonprofits of choice. Tom McNichol selected the Charles River Clean Up Boat as his nonprofit of choice; Hilary Seager chose the Bagnall Education Foundation.
